For 12 years now, the IRONMANA has continually Evolved. The Polynesian canoe, both paddling and sailing, were the first sports of this competition. The kayak joined the line-up the second year and the stand-up paddle quickly found it's place too. Since 2010, an open water swim has been added to the Ironmana.

The “Super Aito” is really the biggest and most beautiful race of Va’a Hoe in the world!!! The show, suspense, emotion is what we had on the menu of this 19th edition, and one more time it made the polynesian’s hearts vibrate. Two days of competition, leveled beyond standards, which had proven the extraordinary talent of Hinatea Bernardino and Steeve Teihotaata. They won the title of “Super Aito Vahine” and “Super Aito Tane” 2010.

Te Aito 2010 Steeve Teihotaata The “Te Aito” organisers had to look after more than 820 men and women paddlers during these 3 days competition. It was the 23rd edition of what became one of the biggest Va’a Hoe event in the world. The participation of the New Zealand and Cook Islands teams during this 2010 event confirm the popularity of the “Te Aito” across the world.
We owe that sporting success, locally and internationally to two passionate person who deserve all our respect.

This is one of the most beautiful moment in the Polynesian outrigger’s history that OPT and Shell Va'a Team have written for this second edition of « Rangiroa Channel Race ». 6 H 30 of intensive fighting never has occurred such a battle in 35 years of competitions. We knew since the inaugural race in 2007, that "RCR" could produce a great show thanks to their background and sea conditions, but the 2010 edition has far exceeded our expectations.

Tahitian Outrigger attended the first professional circuit paddleboard, the “stand-up world tour"(see link: http://www.watermanleague.com/ ), a different way of surfing which products, at each stage, an unusual show.
Guillaume Bourligueux joined the team of "TO" free-riders and promote an image and a philosophy in that sport is becoming, day by day, a social phenomenon.

Shell Va’a Surfs To Victory for the Fourth Year in a Row.

The 41-mile Moloka’i Hoe is known to many as the World Championship of outrigger canoe paddling with top crews from Hawaii, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, the continental US, Japan and Europe competing. This year’s 112 entries was a record for the event.

The day began wet and rainy. The ride down the twisting dirt road to Hale o Lono harbor has been getting rougher and rougher over the past few years. At the end of the road, cold and soppy paddlers readied themselves well before the sky began to lighten behind them to the east. To the west lay their destination: O’ahu.
